| Objectives: Hedges are a distinctive & evocative feature of the British landscape and may be very old. Hedges have many uses for both farmers & wildlife. A huge variety of plants grow in the hedge & beneath it. Hedges need managing & protecting. | |
| Methodology: By studying a real hedgerow pupils see at the variety of plants growing there & notice the wildlife that uses it. The age of the hedge is gauged & methods of management are demonstrated. | |
