How to prepare your staff and students for a great day out
- Contact one of the FarmLink team and arrange for them to come and discuss the visit with you and your students
- Plan your visit – your visit should be incorporated into your lesson planning and its place in your school curriculum
- Health and Safety – it is important to remind your students of Health and Safety requirements prior to your visit
- Supported teaching – on your arrival, hand over to the host farmer and support him or her with the learning, welfare and well being of your students throughout the visit
- Staff to pupil ratio – It is the schools responsibility to make sure that this is met
- First Aid – We advise that at least one member of staff that attends the visit is first aid trained
- Continued learning – follow up your visit by completing the topics in school as part of curriculum time
